Under Construction Flutes

I have at any one time a number of flutes at different stages of construction. Those that you will see here are flutes that I am building without a pre-determined buyer (Commission). Below you will find information with links when available to each flute that is being crafted and what stage of completion. As always you can reach .out with questions.

Currently I have 15 flutes under various stages of completion. All of these flutes are hand made by Wyoming Artist Timothy Jennings and these are available purchase unless marked SOLD. Many will still have opportunities to add special touches. These are not commissioned pieces, but selected by the artist depending on goals. As these flute move closer to completion individual pages will be created for each specific flute until sold. See more about each below:

Texas Juniper – D# @ 440 Hz

Wyoming Mustang Totems

This is a flat out beautiful flute that is about 80% complete. Crafted from a solid billet of Texas Juniper with ZERO knots and long figured grain. The bore on this flute is a 1″ bore, 6 hole flute. Overall length measured on top is 27″ 1/2″ and features the Four Winds tuning holes. The Totem/Fetish is our Wyoming Mustang crafted from American Maple and it will sit over the Windway between two Totem rails. Finishing touches are a hand made cabochon crafted from Wyoming harvested Elk antler, bezel set in Sterling Silver. Leather will be our hand cut Bison lace selected from full hides. Finally this flute is scheduled for a soft Satin lacquer finish. Picture to follow shortly

Alaskan Yellow Cedar – D @430Hz

Unfinished Black Walnut Eagle Totem with Black Walnut Rails. This is not current flute!

This flute is a fairly large bore flute with a deeper voice. This flute is being crafted from a single billet of Old Growth Alaskan Cedar. A six hole flute that features the 4 Winds tuning holes. Totem rails are made from river recovered Sapodilla and the totem for this flute is the head of an American Eagle also crafted from a single block of Sapodilla. This flute currently does not have any inlaid cabochons but they could be added to the project. The foot of the flute will have a wrap with cut fringe made from hand cut elk hide adding a nice finishing touch to the overall flute. The flute is scheduled to be finished in a high gloss lacquer.

Port Orford Cedar – C# @440Hz

This flute is made from one of my favorite woods. Old Growth Port Orford Cedar. A lighter color than Alaskan Cedar (another favorite) and a bit more visible grain. Port Orford Cedar not only makes one of the most beautiful sounding flutes it also has a very nice aesthetics. The flute is a 1″ bore 6 hole flute and has a long aesthetic to it. It measures just shy of 19″ long, measured on top. The totem rail are made from African Blackwood. The totem is a very special totem also crafted from a solid block of African and it is that of a Sea Turtle. Mounted on a nice Maple block, this totem is beautiful. This flute is schedule to be finished in a soft Satin lacquer finish. Pictures to follow shortly.

Crafted from Alaskan Yellow Cedar, this flute is a larger bore flute. The bore is 1″ 1/8″ and this flute is being tuned the key of D. The larger bore give this flute a deeper sounding voice. A large flute by every standard this flute measures just shy of 29″ long, measured on top. The totem for this flute has been selected to be our Wyoming Mustang and it will be crafted out of either Maple or Sapodilla. Totem rails are made from Sapodilla giving a nice contrast between the natural colors of the Alaskan Yellow Cedar and the darker reddish brown of the Sapodilla. The body of this flute currently very clean but there is still time to add a bezel set cabochon if desired. Finally this flute is schedule to be finished in a soft Satin lacquer finish. Pictures to follow shortly.
