Texas Juniper and Maple – Under Construction
This is a flat out beautiful flute that is about 80% complete. The flute is also listed on our UNDER CONSTRUCTION page. Crafted from a solid billet of Texas Juniper with ZERO knots and long figured grain. The bore on this flute is a 1″ bore, 6 hole flute. The flute should end up being a D# @440 Hz. Overall length measured on top is 27″ 1/2″ and features the Four Winds tuning holes. The Totem/Fetish is our Wyoming Mustang crafted from American Maple and sits over the Windway between two Totem rails. Finishing touches are a hand made cabochon crafted from Wyoming harvested Elk antler, bezel set in Sterling Silver. Leather accents will be our hand cut Bison lace selected from full hides. The current plans are to finish this flute in a soft Satin lacquer finish.
As with most flutes that are still in the construction phase, there still may be time to modify the end product with other accents. Although we generally take a more simplistic approach to our flutes additions such has a leather lace with some Cros Beads, handmade Catlinite beads or even some horse hair. This flute has a very pleasant deeper voice that is consistent with more 1′ bored flutes. This flute will come with our simple yet elegant flute stands that are available in Red or Black Acrylic and of course a natural finish. If you have a wood species that you would prefer we can make these in your selected wood species, subject to pricing and wood species availability.
This flute has not been priced as of yet. When we are in the final stages and we know exactly what additional accents, if any, or other specific changes we will apply the final price point to this flute. This is a very nice flute and we seldom come across juniper of this caliber. Once complete we will provide a recording of this flute here on this page.
