Every Blank Starts with Mother Nature
Every flute starts from it’s genesis as tree in some forest somewhere. Most of the wood species we us in our shop are indigenous to North America. We also use some exotics based on the project and availability. Some species are getting hard to find making the finished product even more important to the customer. Whether we are crafting a flute of our own design or a flute that has been commissioned we seek out the very best woods we are able to find.
Blank Types
We offer pre-cut flute blanks in several options. All blanks are cut here in our Wyoming shop using our own proprietary Jigs. Each blank is designed for the flute maker who needs a proven platform to build on. You will craft the final depths of the Focusing Channel, modify the Windway area that includes the Cutting Edge which you create prior to glue up. Pre-finish and seal the inside bores of the flute and finally glue your new flute blank into a homogenous flute blank body. Then it is up to you to shape, sand, tune and finish your new flute. When you are done you should have a functional flute you can be proud of.

Upgrade To our Pre-Glued Blanks
We now offer Upgraded Blanks that ship with the windway, focusing channel and cutting edge completed. The inside of the flute bores and Slow Air Chamber are sealed prior to glue-up. In addition small pilot holes identifying where to drill your finger holes for tuning. We offer pilot hole placement for 4 Winds Hole Tuning. These upgraded blanks save you time and anxiety while constructing your flute. All pre-glued flute blanks comes ready to shape, sand, tune and finish. Final Key the flute will be tuned to depends on the bore size selected. Call for more information.

END CAP BLANKS
End Cap flute blanks are assembled as solid billets, pre-bored blanks, and Upgraded Pre-glued blanks. End Cap flute blanks are one of a kind. Each End Cap blank is built to order, crafted by hand. We offer bore sizes from 3/4″ – 1 1/8″. Prices begin at $128 each per blank.

Our Alaskan Yellow Cedar, Port Orford Cedar, and Sitka Spruce Flute Blanks are so consistent in color and grain density we no longer list these blanks individually.
