Ten Bear Collection, A Bronze Sculpture Series

Ten Bears Collection

A Limited Bronze Series
Only 10 Castings of Each Sculpture Will Ever Be Created

The Collection

The Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem remains one of the last places in North America where the life of the grizzly continues largely unchanged. This collection seeks to capture those enduring moments in bronze.

The Ten Bears Collection explores the life of the North American grizzly within the vast wilderness of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Each sculpture begins as a journey in clay, shaped by the landscapes that define this extraordinary region—from the rivers of the Yellowstone Basin to the rugged peaks of the Absaroka and Wind River Mountains, and into the high country of the Teton Range.

When complete, the collection will consist of ten original bronze sculptures, each capturing a defining moment—an intimate expression of survival, instinct, and presence within one of North America’s last great wild landscapes. Together, these works form a cohesive sculptural narrative of the grizzly’s enduring presence across the Yellowstone ecosystem.

Now In Production

Bear #1 – “Claim the Catch” is currently in production, with initial collector placements underway. “Claim The Catch” is a snapshot in the daily challenge the Yellowstone Grizzly faces daily finding their next meal. Master hunters they are, and viscously effective at the art of fishing. The first look of this sculpture is shown below.

Ten Bears, Claim the Catch Sculpture
Claim The Catch, First Look
  • Claim the Catch (Current Sculpture) – Grizzly with Salmon in mouth and paw on log
  • Back Country Taxi – Mama Grizzly with cubs hitching a ride on her back.
  • Grizzly fishing from a log jam – this bear would be looking down into the river. It would be positioned on the bank of the river or a few logs jammed up. The platform the bear stands on would be a river bed with maybe 4-6 fish swimming.
  • Mama fishing with cubs – looking into the river from the riverbank. The cut-throat trout is swimming below, as in the example above. But more from a curious stand point or mama teaching her cubs how to fish
  • Honey Pot Grizzly – is humorous. Imagine a Grizzly on their back with some form of honeycomb. There even be a container of honey of some sort. This would be a more comical sculpture

Meet the Artist

Timothy Jennings is a Wyoming-based artist whose work is shaped by the landscapes, materials, and traditions of the American West. Living and working near the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, his practice reflects a lifelong connection to place—where wilderness, wildlife, and quiet observation continue to inform the work.

Before turning his full attention to bronze sculpture, Jennings spent more than twenty-eight years crafting Native American style flutes and other hand-built works in wood. This body of work, developed over decades, established a foundation of precision, patience, and respect for material—principles that remain central to his sculpture today.

Over the course of his career, Jennings was also entrusted with the creation of a small number of deeply personal and culturally significant commissioned works. At the request of those who placed that trust in him, these pieces were never publicly shared. The responsibility of that experience—and the decision to honor it quietly—remains one of the defining influences on his approach to craftsmanship and integrity.

Today, Jennings works in bronze, bringing that same discipline and sensitivity of form into sculpture. His current body of work, the Ten Bears Collection, explores the life of the North American grizzly within the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Each sculpture captures a distinct moment—an expression of presence, instinct, and survival within one of North America’s last great wild landscapes.

His work reflects a belief that meaningful objects are not simply made—they are shaped over time through experience, restraint, and a deep respect for both material and subject.

His working studio can be found in the town of Afton, Wyoming. Afton is a beautiful 74 miles south of the town of Jackson. If you have questions or if you would like to view some of his work, feel free to reach out to Tim via email, timjen333@gmail.com or give him a call at (307) 690-0427. He would love to hear from you…
