After a long wait we just received our first shipment of the UNIT 1 e-Bike rated (MIPS) helmets. If you are the owner of a new e-Bike then you will want to consider one of the top rated helmets. The speeds that people are able to travel on a modern e-Bike far exceed the average pedal bike and because of these much higher speeds you need a helmet that meets the safety guideline. Even if you own a regular pedal only bike these helmets provide far more protection than the standard bike helmet. Don’t get caught without one.
We are stocking 2 models. The UNIT 1 Aura series and the NEON series helmets, both MIPS rated for safety. Designed to move between city streets and open roads these helmets offer a perfect balance of ventilation, integrated front and rear lighting (AURA Model Only) providing much needed visibility from all angles. The NEON models offer rear lighting the provides the additional visibility while riding on the public roads.
Both of the AURA and NEON helmets are fully certified NTA-8776, EN-1078 & CPSC. So what does the MIPS designation mean? Mips is a security system that improves a helmet’s performance during rotational impacts (which are the most usual kind). Essentially, it’s a special low-friction liner that can slightly rotate in any direction at the moment of impact, absorbing some of the impact’s energy. All in all, it makes AURA and FARO helmets safer (cause the helmet is already safe, to begin with).
