Every once in a while, I think it is important to discuss a topic that does not focus on us. Afton Wyoming is not the biggest place to visit. Visitors to Star Valley, Wyoming often must drive through our humble town. Afton is a great place to visit in Western Wyoming and she has some pretty cool things to see. It is a perfect place to take a break. Travelers on their way to Jackson Hole or the Yellowstone Park areas will find it convenient. If you have never been here, you will want to know what Afton has to offer. If you have not stayed for any length of time, the same curiosity arises. Well, more than you would think. Many of our treasures are hidden. Some are even hidden in plain sight.
Afton Coffee Company is one of those places. A great little coffee shop that lives right on Main Street in Afton just South of the Elk Antler Arch. Afton Coffee sits right on Main street. Afton Coffee has legit coffee drinks of every kind. They are all made in-house while you wait. They serve some of the best sandwiches in Star Valley. There is a complete medley of other food items to choose from. Not a fancy place by city standards but one that is representative of smaller town America.
It’s The People
Yes the coffee is legit, the food is good, and it is nice little shop to take a break in. But what really makes Afton Coffee Company is the people that work there. They are real. They are pleasant and they are friendly. If you hang out for a while you may even bump into some of the local folk. It’s the people that make the difference. We are not fancy and we are not boastful. You will find a humble crowd in this shop. After you enjoy your coffee, snacks, and short rest, you will be glad you found this little watering hole.
Many who travel through Star Valley on the way to and from the Yellowstone basin will find something special in Afton, Wyoming. Afton is the first and last place, coming and going, where you can experience a bit of Wyoming hospitality. You can also enjoy a hot cup of your favorite coffee drink with new friends. So when in town stop by 468 South Washington Street (Main Street) and check them out. You won’t be disappointed!
