A very unique one of a kind necklace featuring a hand made Catlinite Bead (Sacred Pipestone) with two sterling silver beads on braided black leather with a sterling silver lobster class. Designed with a women in mind as the length of the braided leather is 16 inches in overall length. Here in our studio artist Timothy Jennings makes Native American styled pipes that are commission for both personal and ceremonial purposes. Remnants from Tim’s pipe carvings are saved and transformed in Catlinite Beads completely crafted by hand. These beads are used both as accents to some of the Native American Style flutes Tim makes as well as for jewelry making such as this available necklace.
As with all art this necklace has meaning. The braided leather represents to the artist in some ways to the Sacred Hoop (Medicine Wheel) while the Catlinite Bead represents the path of the Red Road or Mother Earth. Sacred Pipestone represents a very precious part of Native history and current day life. We waste almost no stone when a pipe is created.
