I am always on the hunt for the best Alaskan Yellow Cedar I can find. This Bunk of Lumber was no exception. I was offered a small bunk of 8/4 Boards that are ALL 12″ WIDE! Some are 16 ‘ feet long. This bunk of premium, very expensive AYC boards represents the best of the best Mother Nature can muster.
Without hesitation I committed to purchasing this bunk and I needed to get it to my shop as soon as possible. You do not find boards this nice all that often especially this wide. So it shipped via Semi and somehow ended up in Grand Junction Colorado rather than Afton Wyoming. Fortunately it landed at a business I know and they took very good care of this cedar until I could make the journey.
Yesterday my wife and I left the ranch at 4:20am and made our way 500 miles to Grand Junction Colorado and 500 miles back home to Wyoming. We arrived in good shape and picked up the cedar and made our way back home arriving just before midnight. These are very nice boards of which I will take some more pictures as soon as I can get them stored.
Also coming later this month hopefully will be some premium cut VG grained Sitka Spruce and some Port Orford Cedar. These will be premium grade materials perfect for musical instruments and specialty projects.

i have just secured a new shipment of true Old Growth Alaskan Yellow Cedar boards that will be here first of next week. This current shipment includes Cedar boards that reach lengths of 12 feet and all are 10″ wide and 8/4″ thick. This is the absolute best of the best all very tight Vertical Grain milled boards.
In addition I have secured some larger cant trims that are 4 and 6 inches thick by 12″ inches wide and up to 6 feet in length. These too are very nice solid AYC lumber that is perfect for carving, lathe turning and other projects requiring thicker stock.
Cut Your Own Stock
Are you a flute builder, relief carver, specialty cabinet builder, lathe turner? The source for this kind of quality stock requires purchases that are rather large and difficult to source. As in years past we will ship any size order, nothing is too small. Save money when you purchase stock in larger quantities. No orders are too large.
We expect to have the first boards on the ground here in Wyoming first of next week. Watch for new menu items to be added to our website in coming days. Links will list pricing and specialty boards as they become available.
If you are interested reach out to me early and get your name on some of this beautiful hard to get Old Growth Alaskan Yellow Cedar. We will ship individual boards or if needed we can surface them for your for a upcharge. These are all rough sawn kiln dried boards.
