Nothing goes to waste! No matter how careful we are when we lay out our flute blanks we always end up with trim pieces that are not going to be used for flute making. Some of these trims you will find on post our website as single boards for purchase while other we repurpose into one of our fun Kitchen Utensils we make here by hand.
A couple of years ago we started our JHT Kitchen line of hand crafted wooden utensils. Last year we flat out sold out of what we had in stock as we are limited to what we are able to craft. Well slowly I am crafting more of these fun fully functional art pieces and we have some available now.
NEW SPOON DESIGN
Most all of our kitchen utensils are made from our Old Growth Alaskan Yellow Cedar stockpile. AYC is simply one of the best woods for these utensils and AYC is awesome around water. The spoon shown above, you would think would have been one of the first I made but I finally got around to crafting this for our own kitchen. A simple ergonomically designed wooden spoon that can be used for so much over the stove.
New Paddle Spatula Adds Functionality
Another fairly new add to our utensil is this Medium Paddle Spatula. Easy to use utensil that has a narrow paddle which makes it easy to get into wide mouth jars and such. Saute with it, simply stirring, stir fry veggies and more. Kind of a fun piece.
Use Wood NOT Plastic
As if our American Diet is not bad enough for our health. Just about everything you find for use in the kitchen is made overseas and out of plastics. Some better than others. Wood on the other hand is timeless, healthy and old school alternative. More and more families are purchasing high quality wooden made utensils for cooking in their kitchen. The only thing we add other than our labor is a Pure Food-Grade mineral oil before we ship.

Like everything we make in our shop right here in Afton Wyoming. Like our flute, ALL of the JHT Utensils are hand crafted individually and NO TWO are the same. Easy to use, easy to care for and great for all your stove top needs. All though the price points are a bit higher than production made pieces if you take care of them they will last you for many years of fun healthy cooking.
